Super Cone Fenders

SME Cone fender system, together with our acclaimed Cell fender system, forms the cornerstone of our product portfolio and has gained tremendous market acceptance.

The system is unique and offers two conical design options: Chinese Cone and International Cone. Both types of cone fenders exhibit the same outstanding performance, ensuring superior cushioning and protection in a variety of application scenarios. The only difference between them is their external dimensions, which can be tailored to the different needs of customers and installation environments.

Features

  • Conical Design:Its unique shape provides exceptional stability along with outstanding shear strength, ensuring reliability in various environments.

  • Efficient Space Utilization: Despite its compact size, it achieves the same level of protection as larger fenders, effectively saving installation space and reducing overall costs, making it the ideal choice for space optimization and cost control.

  • Flexible Installation: Supports inverted taper installation configurations, particularly suitable for complex environments with limited space for dock components, showcasing high adaptability and flexibility.

  • Superior Energy Absorption with Low Reaction Force: Compared to traditional Cell fenders, the Cone fender absorbs more impact energy during larger compression deformations while generating a lower reaction force, effectively protecting vessels and dock structures.

What makes us different

  • Up to 72% compression, high energy absorption.
  • Can be installed in an inverted cone, suitable for berths with limited installation size.
  • Two types of molds to choose from: Chinese Cone type and International Cone type

Description

Cone Fender Systems – An Unrivalled Excellence

Cone Fender systems stand among the most advanced marine protection solutions available today. Their unique cone shape allows them to absorb high levels of energy while keeping reaction forces low, which in turn ensures safe and efficient berthing for vessels of all sizes. Thanks to their proven durability and consistent performance, Cone Fenders continue to serve ports and terminals that value reliability, efficiency, and long-term protection.

The range of Cone fender Series specifications we are capable of producing encompasses:
Cone 630, Cone 800, Cone 900, Cone 1000, Cone 1100, Cone 1150, Cone 1200, Cone 1300, Cone 1400, Cone 1600, Cone 1800, Cone 2000.

Cone Fender Type

Despite the different code names, the external dimensions of Cell fender bodies are very consistent across manufacturers worldwide. However, Cone fenders vary significantly, with multiple versions such as the Trelleborg fenders (SCN), Chinese cone, and the Japanese cone (SPC). These subtle differences in detail and size create challenges in the repair and replacement of older dock fender systems because interchangeability is not guaranteed.

Therefore, when we design and select solutions, in addition to paying attention to the performance indicators of the product, we should also understand this difference.

Similar to the Cell Fender system, the Cone Fender system offers an advanced and efficient solution for ports and terminals. Each system combines key components, including the cone body, frontal panel, panel pads, weight chains, shear chains, and anchoring system. Our engineers design every Cone Fender setup with flexibility in mind, ensuring it fits specific site conditions and project requirements.

Cone Fenders can be arranged in various layouts to meet different levels of collision protection and energy absorption. Typically, a single-cone single-panel configuration is used, where one fender supports one frontal panel. For larger berths, two or more fenders may support a single panel. This modular approach improves space efficiency, enhances performance, and lowers overall costs while maintaining safe and reliable berthing operations.

Performance Testing

Only fender systems that have been thoroughly tested and certified should be installed to ensure safety and reliability.
