Electric Quick Release Hooks – Smart Mooring Safety
Electric quick release hooks (QRH) provide a modern solution for safe and efficient mooring. SME, together with its partners, manufactures electric QRHs that can instantly release mooring lines even under full load, speeding up vessel turnaround while enhancing the safety of crew and port infrastructure
Each unit is equipped with an electric capstan offering 10KN to 30KN traction force, making line handling faster and easier. The system includes a gear or worm gear speed reducer and motor power from 5.5kW to 30kW, ensuring strong and stable performance. With IP55 protection and Exd II BT4 explosion-proof certification, these hooks operate reliably in demanding marine environments.
Specifications
Design capacity per hook: 45T, 60T, 78T, 100T, 125T, 150T
Hook quantity per set: 1–4
Release force: ≤175N
Electric capstan traction force: 10KN–30KN
Protection rate: IP55
Explosion-proof level: Exd II BT4
Speed reducer: gear or worm gear
Motor power: 5.5kW–30kW
Manual Quick Release Hooks – Reliable Mooring Solutions
Manual QRH provide ports with a safe and cost-effective solution for mooring operations. These hooks are designed to release mooring lines quickly and securely, helping operators reduce risks while maintaining efficiency. Unlike electric QRH, manual versions require less maintenance, making them ideal for smaller terminals or facilities with limited infrastructure.
Furthermore, manual QRH come in single or multiple hook configurations. The base can be either cast or fabricated, which gives ports the flexibility to use them in new installations or retrofit existing berths. In addition, their robust structure ensures long service life under continuous operation.
