Foam Filled Fenders

SME Foam Fenders combine heat-sealed foam core technology with reinforced polyurethane shells to deliver superior stress resistance, excellent energy absorption, and outstanding durability.

SME supplies Foam Fenders in a wide range of sizes and configurations to meet the needs of ports, shipyards, and offshore projects. We manufacture fenders with diameters from 200 mm to 4,500 mm and lengths from 500 mm to 10,600 mm. Customers choose from different foam densities and shapes to match their specific mooring requirements. Our engineering team also designs customized fenders to handle complex marine environments, ensuring reliable protection and a perfect fit for every application.

Features

  • Efficient Energy Absorption: The fenders absorb and dissipate collision energy effectively, reducing the impact on vessels and berthing structures.

  • Exceptional Weather Resistance: Premium materials resist seawater corrosion and UV radiation, delivering stable performance over long-term use.

  • Flexible Configuration: SME provides various sizes and configurations to serve commercial ports, recreational marinas, offshore platforms, naval ports, and more.

  • Convenient Installation & Maintenance: Quick installation and low maintenance requirements help reduce long-term operational costs.

What makes us different

100% fully enclosed EVA foam core.
Reinforced with PA6 filament and coated with polyurethane elastomer.
The outer layer is made tough and durable with sprayed polyurea.

Description

SME uses fully enclosed EVA (Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate) foam with a tightly packed closed-cell structure. This design allows the foam to absorb and distribute impact energy effectively, protecting vessels from collision damage. The closed-cell structure locks gas inside the foam, preventing compression or deformation and ensuring long-term stability and reliability.

SME crafts the fender shell from reinforced polyurethane. This material adds an extra layer of protection for the foam and greatly improves the fender’s overall strength and durability. The shell withstands harsh environmental factors, including seawater erosion and UV radiation. This durability ensures the fender maintains superior performance over long-term use.

The closure head and axle core structure play a crucial role in maintaining foam fender stability. Marine environments expose fenders to complex forces and dynamic changes. SME uses high-strength, corrosion-resistant metals to withstand long-term marine erosion and heavy loads.
